Description Researchers study the giant squid axon to bring fundamental understanding on how nerve fibers transmit signals. NIH researchers such as Dr. Kenneth Cole, Dr. Tasaki, and many others who worked on axon research at Woods Hole, Massachusetts. In this photograph, the researcher appears to be examining the fibers for detailed research.
