PHP 8.0 is here! 🎉🍾

PHP 8.0.0 was released today, and over the 25 years of PHP's history, PHP 8.0 marks a major milestone as PHP continues its path as a mature programming language, still powering an overwhelming majority of web sites on the Internet today!

PHP 8.0 is by no means a small achievement; It brings features such as Just-In-Time compilation and Attributes, both of which were proposed and discussed over many years, while bold new features such Named Parameters make their way too.

Improved typing such as Union Types, mixed type support and various other type-system systems make the code less prone of unpleasant surprises, and the shiny new match syntax, null-safe operator and several small yet useful improvements make writing PHP code a joy.

PHP core contributors, documentation maintainers, packaging/releasing maintainers, developers, event organizers, and the rest, we all represent values of an open source programming language that still thrives in a fast-moving programming world.
