Professor Dr. J. de Curtò y Díaz

Prof. Dr. De Curtò is a Recognised Researcher (R2) in the Department of Computer Applications in Science & Engineering, Group of Dual Technologies, of the BARCELONA Supercomputing Center. He is also a Professor (Profesor Asociado Colaborador - Doctor) at Universidad Pontificia Comillas. He is also affiliated with GOETHE-Universität Frankfurt am Main and Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC). He received a Doctor of Science in Computer Science from Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) in December 2023. He has been Senior Research Assistant at City University of Hong Kong (2017) and Scientific Assistant at ETH Zürich (2015-2016). He pursued graduate studies (MSc in Multimedia Information Technology, with graduation year 2015) at City University of Hong Kong where he did his master thesis at Carnegie Mellon. Dr. De Curtò also holds a 5-year degree in Telecommunication Engineering (2013) from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) and Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC). He has more than 20 articles published in indexed journals and internationally recognized conferences, on topics of Vehicular Technologies, IoT, AI and Space Mission Design.

I'm broadly interested in computer vision and learning. I develop models that extract high-level information of the world to assist robots and automated systems such as self-driving cars and drones.
